Blood on the Tracks, Vol. 3Blood on the Tracks, Vol. 3 by Shuzo Oshimi

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one continues the showing the horror through the art more than words. Seichi is caught cuddled up, nearly unresponsive with his mother in a very non mother/son embrace. You can see the WTF on Dad's face but he also buckles under to his wife when she refuses to go the hospital to see her nephew.

a few weeks past his cousin's fall from the cliff and we start seeing the profound changes in Seichi. His mother continues to refuse to go to the hospital (or allow him) and continues to infantalize him. He is now so locked up in his own head, he can't even speak, not even once school starts.

When he finally does accompany Dad to the hospital to see his cousin, Mommy dearest melts down, threatening him with suicide if he doesn't chose her side in this (Dad is a) clueless and rather impotent as a parent b) starting to realize his wife is bat crap crazy) in staying away from the hospital (Dad and his sister think she's blaming herself for the 'accident.').

When this doesn't get the reaction, she hopes for, she really shows her colors and the violence ensues. Again, the creep factor here is that this feels so real. This could be on any ID Discovery true crime show (I've literally seen ones like it). Looking forward to what's next.
